-A New American Classic-

When West Coast architect David Montgomery’s estranged Midwestern brother Roy dies, he expects nothing more than a funeral and an obligatory goodbye. Instead, he receives a challenge, one that will push him miles beyond his comfort zone. Roy has left him his ‘56 Thunderbird but with two requests: take the drive down Route 66 they had always promised each other, and along the way, find Roy’s rebellious son, Stephen, and reunite him with his mother, Amanda, in Sedona.

But what begins as a reluctant road trip quickly becomes a reckoning. As David uncovers a long-buried military cover-up that falsely scapegoated Roy, he realizes the road ahead isn’t just about family, it’s about justice. With the help of Stephen and a brilliant jazz musician with connections in all the right places, David stages a crazy, audacious plan to expose the truth and restore his brother’s honor.

On the way, Stephen receives an unexpected phone call from Izzy, a young Blackfeet woman, pregnant and alone. Stephen is the father of her child but his struggle with the demons of childhood rejection and alcoholism drove him away before he knew she was carrying his baby. Now, as Izzy faces banishment from her family for breaking tradition, she’s left with nowhere to go. Amanda refuses to let her face the future alone. The two women from vastly different worlds find strength in one another. As Amanda, Stephen, and David rally around Izzy, she discovers that family isn’t always the one you’re born into, it’s the one you choose.
